In quest for body like Hrithik and Salman !!!

The death of 29 year old Rijo exposed the use of steroids in the fitness industry. Salman Khan and Hrithik roshan are two of the superstars of the Bollywood who fuel the muscle building dream of an average Indian guy. Anyone who goes to the Gym wants to have a body like them. Make me a xerox copy of Salman or I want to get a body like Hrithik at any cost are some of the statements which these teenagers utter.

But its not easy to replicate the bodies like Salman and Hrithik and takes months of hard-work and patience as you work over your body with suitable diet. But do we have that much patience? Few gyms and trainers recommend and supply steroids/fame supplements to make some quick money. These fake supplements are not only dangerous to the body but can also lead to death as was the case with Rijo. The transformation of the body with these steroids is fast as you can workout for more time and your body pumps, but this is only short term happiness and may lead to fatal results later on.

Make sure you go to a established gym with certified trainers as they will not indulge in these practices. If you want to take supplements, they should be the genuine ones from a branded company and not the fake supplements with steroids.

Remember, there is no shortcut to a perfect body. You need to work hard !!!

Fitness never takes a back seat!!

In today’s busy world, when work is all what we care about, there is a whole breed of travellers emerging who are constantly looking to stay fit even on business trips. These frequent travellers often cannot commit to a long term membership in their base town as they are always on move and hardly get to use the gym there. So what are the options they have? A hotel with access to gym is what comes to mind, but usually a fully equipped gym access is available in only five star hotels and above.

I recently met the CEO of a company who is usually out of town 15 days in a month but makes sure he gets gym access wherever he goes what that means is, he has to book a 5 star hotel by paying a higher price. But he didn't want to carry his shoes on his short trips and wanted the hotel to provide it for customers.

In US, as per one of The New York Times article, around 8% of travellers choose their hotels based on fitness offerings. But do these hotels tend to cover all classes of business travellers, the answer is NO. Most fitness conscious travellers will look for a gym nearby their hotel where they can exercise by paying less and under proper supervision.

Suprgym.com is a platform which aims at addressing most of the problems these travellers face, from locating the nearest gym to renting shoes. So next time you travel, book the nearest fitness centre to your hotel. Stay Fit!!!

Around 55 per cent of young workforce engaged in India’s information technology (IT) and IT enabled services (ITeS) sector are stricken with lifestyle disorders due to unhealthy eating habits, hectic work schedules, tight deadlines, irregular and associated stress.
According to a study by Assocham, no fixed meal hours and non-stop telephonic sessions were causing gastric problems, together with fatigue and headaches.
About 2,000 young men and 1,000 women were interviewed by the industry body’s Social Development Foundation in the age group of 22 to 30 years, representing various business process outsourcing (BPO) companies.
The survey was carried out in Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Gurgaon, Noida and Pune between August and October last year to ascertain the extent of junk food addiction among BPO employees.
“Excessive intake of junk food, lack of physical exercise, long working hours, lack of sleep together with unbound mental fatigue is impacting on the health of BPO and IT professionals in the cities,” DS Rawat, Secretary General, Assocham said.
He said most of them eat food served outside, and this might have detrimental consequences on employees’ health in the long run.

Nike+ FuelBand : Fitness Monitor on Wirst

Nike has recently launched a wrist fitness band or a fitness monitor which can track all your fitness activities over the day and record and help you analyze the outcomes over a period of time. It seems to be nice gadget which will be very useful for fitness enthusiasts who wants to track every move they make. Gadget freaks can also go ahead and have a fun time using it.

Nike + Fuelband uses a sports accelerometer that converts all your activities to a metric called by nike as "NikeFuel". You can set your daily goal and make sure that you burn that many calories. The indicators on the band indicates your progress over the day with Green indicating that you have met your goal. If you got an iPhone then download the app and you can easily sync wirelessly or else download the Nike-Connect for your PC.

With 100 white LED's and 20 Performance LED's its a very colorful device and comes in various sizes (S,M,L) for a decent $149.00

To be precise its a good looking device with a limited set of functionality, GPS tracking would have been great which can give you reports of your movements and may be also work as an S.o.S device. I was also looking for an Android App for the device.

Overall an good device which will surely be grabbed by fitness freaks!!!

Dhoni to Enter Fitness Biz

Indian Cricket Captain, Mr. Dhoni has decided to enter the Fitness bandwagon by launching a array of gyms across India and globally. As per the news reports , the gyms will be branded under the name 'SportsFit World Pvt. Ltd.' and they plan to open approx. 200 gyms in coming few years with 4 to 5 of them coming up by June.

Dhoni is quite a athlete, which is quite evident with his running between the wickets, He is so damn quick that he hardly gets run out. With fitness industry on the upward move, its a nice move which he has taken with all his experience in sports. The plans is also to expand the chain globally, which is going to make it truly an international fitness group.

He has been quite spectacular behind the wickets , but we have to wait and see how his golden gloves  handle this altogether different game. The new overall is good for the industry and will organize it to a greater extent. Only few players have been able to get a name in the industry and this is going to be a big one among them. With the current market penetration ration of just 0.4, there is major scope of growth. All the Best M.S.D !!!
